The NRHS
The National Railway Historical Society (NRHS), of which Watauga Valley
is a Chapter, was
founded in 1935 by a small group who recognized the need to promote and preserve railroading nationwide. Since then the
NRHS has grown to over 170 chapters with over 19,000 men and women of all ages and professions in every state and many
foreign countries, making it the nation’s largest rail historical society and the leader in rail preservation,
history, and excursion operation. Watauga Valley Chapter is proud of its association with the NRHS and the many family teams that provide leadership and skills in chapter and national projects.
We invite you to become part of this great railroad organization by joining the Watauga Valley Chapter NRHS. To learn how to join us, click here.
